ERMA IVERSEN HANSEN
BRIGHAM CITY - Erma Iversen Hansen, 88, died peacefully on February 3, 2005 at her home.
She was born on June 22, 1916 in Brigham City, Utah, the daughter of Ernest and Flora Iversen. She was married to Richard G. Hansen on October 13, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1965.
Erma spent her entire life in Brigham City. Mom was blessed with musical talent - a beautiful alto voice. She sang her entire life. As a family we remember Mom as a very hard worker. She began at an early age and never quit. She retired as personal secretary to Dee Glen Smith of Smith Management Corporation.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was Relief Society President, Young Women's President and loved working with the children in Primary. She also worked in the Ogden Temple and in the Genealogical Library in Brigham City.
Mom loved working in her yard and planting every kind of flower there was. Her family was her entire life. Mom tells it in the simplest way, "Having a family makes me so happy." *Other qualities she possessed where honesty, determination, loyalty, dependability and last but not least a love for animals.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Richard) Wight, Perry; Carolyn (Paul) Petersen, Brigham City; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one sister, Marion Jensen.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters; Juanita Steffen, Helen Crossman, Betty Carter, and one brother, Harvey Iversen.
