Ernie William Bell, 90 our loving husband, father, grandfather and friends passed away peacefully on June 28, 2017.

Ernie was born on November 22, 1926, in Kelsey, Texas, to parents, Charles F. Bell and Blanche Lindsey Bell. At the age of 15, he came to Woods Cross, Utah. With his sister Florence and his uncle Horace Perry.

He graduated from Davis High School and joined the US Navy in 1944. Ernie married Carol Bair on March 27, 1946, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married 71 years and were blessed with three sons and two daughters, 19 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

He began his career at Hill AFB in the vehicle maintenance branch, retiring after 36 years.

Ernie was a faithful servant of the Lord, serving as a home teacher, Bishop, and as a counselor in the Roy Stake Presidency. Ernie and Carol served missions in Perth, Australia and Johannesburg, South Africa. They served as ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple for 17 years.

He enjoyed deer hunting with his sons, as they were growing up, fishing, camping and traveling with friends and family. He began golfing in his later years and wished he had begun earlier.

Ernie is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Carol; sons, Jack (Charlotte), Clark (Pam), Marlon and daughter, Susan (Don) McCloy. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Carolyn, grandson Dustin Bell, and Sisters, Florence, Pauline, and Edna.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Roy 5th Ward Chapel, 5300 South 2100 West Roy, Utah. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 5 2017 at Myers Roy Mortuary 5965 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and Thursday at the church from 9:30 - 10:30 AM prior to services. Interment in the Roy City Cemetery.
