Jean Salazar Martinez Click here to listen to Funeral Recording Eugenia (Jean) Salazar Martinez passed away on Dec. 28, 2014. She was born in Cortez, Colorado, on Feb. 11, 1934. She met the love of her life, LeRoy Martinez and they were married on Nov. 25, 1950. She attended Weber State College earning a Bachelor's degree in psychology. She practiced her skill while working for Weber County Mental Health Department. Jeans biggest joys were her children and grandchildren which she has many of. She loved music and playing her autoharps, teaching and playing for her grandkids. She loved crafts and tried to make most anything. Jean was a very compassionate woman, always looking for a way to help and serve others. She is survived by her children, Manuel Martinez, Jerry (Ellie) Martinez, Charles (Sandra) Martinez, Linda (Pablo) Sanchez, Peggy (Rick) Martinez, Vickie (Timmy) Ruiz, Susan (Simon) Trujillo, Jolene (Mario) Valencia. She is survived also by her loving companion Ernesto Valdez, who was by her side thru thick and thin. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy B. Martinez and sons, Kelly, Danny, Anthony and Mike Martinez. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. with a viewing prior from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Interment, Willard Cemetery.
