Faye Norman Hansen

BRIGHAM CITY - Faye Norman Hansen returned to her loving Heavenly Father on May 12, 2010. Faye was born August 14, 1934 to Edward Obray Norman and Annie Marie Thomas Norman in Paradise, Utah. She was the 11th of 12 children.
Faye was raised in Brigham City, Utah and married Dee E. Hansen of Corinne, Utah on November 15, 1950 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.
Faye is the mother of four children, Paula M. (Gordon) Anderson of Newton, UT., Teresa (Darrel) Owens of Shelley, ID., Mitch D. (Pamela) of West Jordan, UT., and Matt E. (Shari) of Newton, UT, Grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Following a Marine Corps tour of duty, Dee and Faye made their home in Corinne, UT. until 1969. They moved to Shelley, ID where Dee managed a cattle ranch on the banks of the Snake River. While living here Paula and Teresa found their Eternal companions.
They moved with their two sons to Cache Valley in 1976 when the ranching operation was moved to Utah. 1978 found them returning to Corinne to manage a beef, hay and grain farm for the LDS Church. While living here she sent her two sons, Mitch and Matt on LDS church missions just four months apart. She often commented that for two years she did not dare try to balance her check book but the money was always there.
In1998 they retired to five acres in Malad, ID where there was room for horses and her grandchildren to roam and no mosquitoes.
When the acreage became too much, they moved to Brigham City in the family home that she grew up in and loved. No matter where she was located Faye created a home of love and Gospel principles for her family.
To Faye her children were her life. She enjoyed taking trips with them while they were young, and later toured Europe with Paula and Gordon before they retired from the Air Force. She also enjoyed the traveling with good friends to Florida and other areas. She has always been a great example of work and service. She managed a bakery and enjoyed cake decorating. Later she worked as a seamstress making draperies with Trend Interiors and Eva Jane's Interiors
Faye has been a great example of service. She has accepted callings in all organizations of the LDS Church and her life has been an example of its teachings. She has opened her door to anyone who has been in need, caring for her Father-in-law through his cancer and helping many others in times of struggle and need. Her final years have been in the continuous service of her eternal sweetheart.
Faye was preceded in death by parents, 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Corinne Ward. Friends may call Sunday, May 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100E. Brigham City and Monday, 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
