Fidel Diaz

Fidel Rodriquez Diaz, passed away March 26, 2023 in Layton, Utah. He was born March 2, 1954 to Maria Elena Tamayo and Manuel Diaz in Tijuana, Mexico. He married Josefina Sotel on September 5, 1970. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
He loved listening to music, being around his family, and loving on his great grandkids. He enjoyed giving people nicknames, the family joker, and was always the life of the party.
Fidel is survived by his wife, Josefina; daughters, Sandra and Malena; son, Fidel Diaz, Jr.; five grandkids and three great grandkids; brothers, Francisco "Pancho" Diaz, Hector "Tito" Diaz, Manuel Diaz, and Manuel "Meno" Diaz; sisters, Teresa Mendoza, Elisa Melero, Mana, Melero, Leticia Munoz, and Veronica Diaz; many nieces and nephews; those he adopted as his grandkids and great grandkids; and his friends that became like family to him.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4050 S 3900 W, West Haven, Utah. A vigil with rosary will be held Thursday evening at 6pm at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Gathering for family and friends will be after the vigil from 7-8 p.m.
