Floreine Vivian Walling Obituary (1914 - 2007)

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on March 30, 2007 at the age of 92 Floreine was born in McLaughlin, South Dakota on August 14, 1914 to Louella McLaughlin and Robert Patchen. She is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe (Unkapapa), Ft. Yates, North Dakota. Floreine grew up in South Dakota with six sisters and two brothers. She had an interesting, challenging, and successful career. She worked as an overhead welder in a shipyard in Portland, Oregon where she met her first husband Emmett La Framboise. She worked for the Warm Springs Oregon Tribe and at Intermountain Indian School, in Brigham City, Utah. She worked with the Bureau of Indian affairs for 34 years and received many awards during her tenure. Floreine raised 5 boys while maintaining her professional career. She is a member of the LDS church. She enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, cooking for family get togethers, bridge club, helping others in need, and taking care of her family. She is survived by four boys, Wally La Framboise of Rapid City, SD; Robert & Marge La Framboise of Clearfield, UT; Frank La Framboise of Avalon, UT; Joe Walling of San Leandro, CA; daughter-in-law, Karen La Framboise Olsen of Provo, UT; 30 grandchildren 24 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son, Lyle La Framboise, four sisters, one brother and one grandson, Mike La Framboise. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Utah Regional Medical Center and Canyon Cove Assisted Living for the excellent care she received. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT. Viewing will be from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. We all love you, we know you are in the Heavenly Kingdom, Eternal be your name.
