Florence Wright Hadley

WEST HAVEN - Florence Wright Hadley, 89, passed away July 24, 2009 at Peach Tree Place in West Haven. She was born on April 11, 1920 to Sanford Bingham Wright and Viola Heiner in Ogden, Utah.

Florence married Dan D. Hadley on September 15, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had been married for 71 years when Dan passed away on November 13, 2008.

They lived in West Weber on a small farm where Florence enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. She loved to quilt, crochet, and embroider, making many beautiful items. She also loved getting together with friends for their monthly club parties. After Dan's retirement in 1972, they spent the winter months in St. George where they enjoyed playing golf and spending time with their friends. They eventually lived there year-round, returning to the Ogden area in 2007.

Florence was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed her church callings and doing temple work.

She is survived by her children, Tahna (Gary) Hipwell, West Weber, Scott (Carol) Hadley, West Weber, Dana Deamer, St. George; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann (LaMar) Gibson, West Weber; 21 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Leland (Margaret) Wright, Orem; and a sister, Orleen Nielsen, Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Dixie Lee; son, Milo Dan; her parents; a brother, Dee Wright; a sister, Jenness Barker; two brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; and three great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Peach Tree Place and to Hospice for Utah for their tender care and loving support.
