Florence Redford Koster (August 14 1939-June 18 2015) Click here to listen to Funeral Recording Florence was born in a log cabin in Myton, Utah on August 14 1939, to Marie Helen Larsen and James William Redford Sr. She graduated from Weber High School with a GED. Florence married George A. Law they were blessed with two children Debra and Clifford. They were later divorced. Florence had a zest for life she enjoyed working for Wonder Bread Bakery, was a dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studio, and was a secretary at the Defense Depot in Ogden. She played pitcher on a fast pitch softball team, the Shamrocks in Salt Lake City. She loved young people! She had her hair done faithfully every week. Flo had a passion for bowling and rolled a near perfect score of 278. Florence married the love of her life, Robert Daniel Koster in 1974. They have spent 41 years lovingly blending their two families. Flo loved camping at our Summer Place, reading, canning, and playing games with the grandkids. Bob and Flo could not get enough dancing. Two weeks ago she was dancing in her wheelchair with grandchildren making some lasting memories. Florence was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she enjoyed service in many callings including: Ward & Stake Relief Society President, Emergency Preparedness Specialist, teaching Primary, Sunday School, and Young Women, coaching a winning Boys Basketball Team, and as an Ogden Temple worker working specifically with the brides. Florence is survived by her faithful and very handsome husband Bob, children: Debra (Ronald) Opp; Clifford (Kristel) Law; Kathy (Rick) Irwin; Bruce (Verlynn) Koster; Becky (Randell) Zaugg; Paula Jo (Kim) Cannon; John (Debbie) Koster; Diane (Richard) Erickson; 37 Grandchildren and 84 Great Grandchildren and more to come. Also, surviving are siblings and in-laws: Gene (Janet) Keene, (Lillian) Redford, Neil (Sara) Redford, LaRee (Don) Clark, Ruth (Gene) Dalpez, Ina (Gary) Marcus, Julie (Grant) Young, Sharol (Cal) Park, Linda (Monte) Noland. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, brother James, and sister Helen Johnson. Special thanks for care givers at Inspiration Hospice, Chancellor Gardens, faithful friends, and family members who cared for and supported Florence with tender loving care. Bob is especially thankful for all of your tender mercies. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 23, 2015 11:00 am at the Sunset Stake Center, 220 W 975 N Sunset, UT. Friends and family may attend a viewing in her honor on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 6 8 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah and Tuesday from 9:30 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center. A special memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Chancellor Gardens for her many friends at the center.
