Franchot L. Olson Obituary (1949

Franchot L. Olson Franchot L. Olson, age 64, returned to his Heavenly Father suddenly on Saturday, July 6, 2013. He was born on January 11, 1949 in Afton, Wyoming to Donald Lavere and Adelia Lindsay Olson, the third of eleven children. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to all he met. He was reared in Star Valley, Wyoming, working on the family farm with his father and grandfather. At a later age he moved to Roy, Utah with his family. Franchot served in the Army from 1968-69 as a Sergeant, serving with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. He survived "Hamburger Hill", receiving many commendations, including the Purple Heart. He later attended college at Utah State in Logan, Utah. Franchot was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a kind and giving person, was charitable to all, and strived to do many acts of service for friends and family. His greatest joy in life was the love he had for his daughters. He was dearly loved by his family, who will always remember the kindness and love he showed by his good heart. He is survived by his daughters: Nicole (Tim) Thompson and Adelia Olson, grandchildren, Adeline Grace and Joshua McKay, his father Donald Lavere Olson, his brothers, Kim (Diann) Olson, Lex (Shannon) Olson, Layne (Melissa) Olson, his sisters, Lana (Clarence) Kaae, Cleo (Larry) Eppley, Relia (Larry) Talbot, Lorna Olson, Fonda (Victor) Diaz, Joan (Lee) Makin, Tonia (Mike) Cronen, many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. He is preceded in death by his mother Adelia Lindsay Olson, and a granddaughter, Savannah Rose. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Roy Midland Stake Center, 3649 West 4800 South, Roy. A viewing will be held Sunday, July 14th at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the church from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Bennington, Idaho Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Monday.
