LAYTON - Franklin Earl Dicus, 75, passed away suddenly the 23rd of October 2004. He was born the fourth of eight children, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, 24th June 1929. Dad joined the
U. S. Air Force at age 18, spending 27 years before retiring. This included three tours in Vietnam, Germany, France, Japan and all over the U.S.A.
He met our mom, Hedy on his tour in Germany. They got married and had a family of seven, Bill (Linda) Dicus, Olympia, WA; Jim (Kim) Dicus, Yelm, WA; David (Carol) Layton, UT; Galen Dicus, Layton, UT; Cindy (Jerry) Wieser, Madison, WI; Mary (Mark) Abrahamson, VT; and Patty Curry, Layton, UT. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Dad loved his family and enjoyed hunting, gardening and fishing with his sons, especially James. He loved to watch his grandchildren play baseball, football and basketball. He and mom welcomed all to their home, and had friends all over the world.
Upon retiring from the U.S. Air Force, dad went to college obtaining a business degree, and then worked another twenty years in civil service. He will be greatly missed by all. May God take you home and watch over us. Your loving family.
