Fred John Corra Jr Obituary (1925 - 2010)

Fred John Corra, Jr. OGDEN - Fred John Corra, Jr. age 85, passed away on November 12, 2010. He was born October 1, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Fred and Stephanie Corra. He married Virginia Lucy Morrelli October 11, 1947. They were married 62 years until her death on January 4, 2009. Fred was a veteran of WWII. He served in the Army Air Corp from 1943-1945. He lived in Des Plaines, Illinois until enlisting in the Army then in Ogden, Utah since 1947. He graduated from Main Township High School in 1943, then attended Ohio University 1946-1947. He graduated from USU in 1953 in Industrial Education. He was a member of St. James the Just Catholic Church since it's inception. Fred loved fishing, golfing, camping, coaching and sports. He also had a stamp collection that was started when he was 8 years old. He loved to dance, especially with his wife. The family would like to thank McKay Dee, Hematology Oncology Department and Emeritus Estates, especially Lou for making Dad's last 4 months special, especially the fishing trips and nightly visits. Fred is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Corra; his son John Corra; and brother Claire Corra. He is survived by his daughter Paula A. (Louis) Miller of Ogden; his son Thomas F. (Linda) Corra of Vancouver, Washington; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a brother Edward (Jean) Corra of Chicago, Illinois. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at St. James the Just Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd., Ogden, Utah. A gathering and Rosary will be held at the Church prior to the Mass from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
