Gail Thomas Norman Obituary (1927

Gail Thomas Norman Beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa left us today to join his loved ones gone before. He was born April 9, 1927 in Paradise, Utah and died April 14, 2013 in Eagle Mountain, Utah at the age of 86. He was the seventh of 12 children born to Edward O. Norman and Annie Marie Thomas, Norman. His family moved to Brigham City when he was six years old. He attended Central School and Box Elder High. He joined the Navy at age 17 and fought for our freedom in the Battle of Okinawa near the end of the Second World War. He married Betty Lou Marble of Brigham City June 12, 1948, later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They had eight children, Katherine, Sharon, Cynthia, Jeffrey Jay, Robert Thomas, Daniel Andrew, Jennifer and William Conrad Norman. He was a skilled equipment handler for DDO, Ogden and Thiokol and a master builder supervising the construction of LDS Churches in California for seven years. In 1986 he returned to his roots and began operating a farm in Delta, Utah. He later moved to Pleasant Valley in the West Desert where he did cattle ranching and served as the Mail Carrier for 18 years. He was known by all as a hard worker and a kind and honest man. He was happiest when his family was gathered around him and is survived by his loving wife and seven of his children, 74 grandchildren and 89 great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, his 11 siblings and five grand-children. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E. in Brigham City, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Mortuary. Gail will be laid to rest in Paradise, Utah with Military Honors Accorded.
