Gail Elaine Vandenbroeck Obituary (1947 - 2016)

Gail Elaine Chambers VandenBroeck June 29, 1947 - November 27, 2016 Gail Elaine Chambers VandenBroeck, loving sister, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016, surrounded by family and friends as she quietly took her last breath. Born June 29, 1947 in Bingham Canyon, UT, Gail was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived and traveled throughout the United States and Europe. As part of a military family, her favorite stations were in Spangdahlem and Ramstein Germany, where she met lifelong friends, and skied the beautiful mountains. She worked as a secretary for the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind, and then 23 years in civil service for the Federal Government. In August 2005, after retirement, Gail moved to Round Rock, TX, and became a member of the Beta Phi Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. A tenderhearted and compassionate woman, she enjoyed travel, art, painting, crochet, skiing, watching old westerns and cooking shows, and lighthouses. She was preceded in death by her father Jasper Edward Chambers and her mother Dorothy Elaine Hermansen Chambers. She is survived by her two sisters, Janice (DeLyle) Flack and Shelley (Kurt) Coroles, her four children, David, Amy, Stormy (Justin), and Robert (CeCelia), six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her longtime sweetheart, Steve Lizon and her sorority clique. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m., prior to services. Interment at Memorial Gardens of Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden, UT.
