Garey Victor Henrie Obituary (1941 - 2015)

Garey Victor Henrie 7/19/1941-11/26/2015 ROY - Garey V. Henrie, 74, passed away peacefully at his home, with his wife by his side, on November 26, 2015, from complications of a six year battle with liposarcoma cancer. Garey was born July 19, 1941 in Driggs, ID to Victor Henrie and Mabel Goodrick. He was raised in Hooper and Roy while spending his summers in Wilson, WY on his grandparents' ranch. There he learned how to work without complaining and his reward was his favorite, his grandma's home cooking. Garey graduated from Weber High School in 1959. He spent a lot of time running around with "the Roy boys." They had way too much fun together! On September 30, 1960, Garey married the love of his life, Judy Sessions and they were happily married for 55 years. Together, they had three beautiful children: Sherrie Lynn, Cindy and Darin V. From the time their children were born, they spent every weekend and holiday camping, riding dirt bikes, fishing, horseback riding and teaching their children that family was the most important thing in life. Garey worked for Fife Rock Products for 32 years. He was very proud to be a Teamster. He loved his job and his Mac truck. Garey could do and fix anything he set his mind to. He restored old trucks, built horse trailers and loved spending time in his shop. He had many hobbies, but his wife and children were his number one priority. Garey is survived by his wife, Judy, his sisters, Roberta (Vern) Rasmussen, Sharyol (Dennis) Mansfield, Caryol (Kevin) Patterson, ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Garey was preceded in death by his three children, Sherrie Lynn Keller, Cindy Lloyd, Darin V. Henrie, both of his parents and his great grandson, Burton Herrera. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., and on Tuesday from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m., prior to services. Interment in the West Haven Cemetery.
