Garn Edward Lewis Click here to listen to Funeral Recording Garn Edward Lewis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, age77, passed away on July 5th, at his home, surrounded by his family and sweetheart. He was born in Ogden, Utah on December 12, 1937 to Mamie Garner and Edward M. Lewis. Garn lived his life loving the great adventure that it was. He loved the mountains, hunting, fishing, and camping. He played football, basketball, and baseball and enjoyed being a great athlete. He met Sandy Weaver at age 14 and became life-long best friends and sweethearts, marrying in the Logan temple on June 4, 1958. He dedicated his life to his family and loved being with them. He was a lifelong member the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and often shared his love for the Gospel and his Heavenly Father with his family. Garn had a special love for his country and the constitution. He lived his life teaching others the great gift our freedom is and that we should defend the constitution of this great land. He was active in his community, giving presentations and organizing groups to educate people on the constitution and laws of this land. He loved youth and spent most of his years teaching woodshop in high schools. He was dedicated and hardworking and influenced many young people for good during his life, including his grandchildren who thought him their hero. We love and appreciate the love and joy he brought to our lives and will miss his daily presence. We rejoice in his passing and know he is happy in his home above. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Weaver, and daughters Cristi Tisdale and husband Michael Tisdale, Leslie Jensen and husband J.C. Jensen, and Heather Barton and husband Kerry Barton, as well as his son Shaun Lewis and wife Tauna Lewis. He leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with another on the way. He also leaves his older sister, Bonnie Leavitt, and brothers, Roland Lewis, and Quinn Lewis. He is predeceased by his brothers lvan Lewis and Derwin Lewis, as well as granddaughter, Natalie Barton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9 to 10: 45 a.m. on Saturday.
