Gary T. Southwick September 20, 1935 - October 17, 2015 ROY - Gary T Southwick - Our amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle has moved on to his next adventure. He passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home surrounded by his beloved family and friends after a yearlong valiant battle with cancer. He was born September 20, 1935 to Ray King and Ella Teuscher Southwick. His fun personality, contagious smile and twinkly green eyes brightened the lives of all those who knew him. He worked hard and always lived life to the fullest. He was in the first graduating class from Ben Lomond High School in 1954. Following graduation he served in the Marine's 45th infantry reserves. He married Annette Clawson with whom he had seven children, they later divorced. In April 1982 he married Diane Preece and added two more step-daughters to the mix that loved him dearly. His career was with Boeing for 29 years. He was a master craftsman in all that he did. He would often say. "The impossible only takes a little longer." He was recognized by Calvin L. Rampton in March 1976 with the Governor's award as the highest Quality Craftsman for the State of Utah. His work can be seen all around the Ogden area. His life treasures were his family and friends with whom he loved to spend time with, telling them jokes, golfing with his crazy swing, boating at Lake Powell, camping and many adventures riding his Harley. He loved the outdoors and was often seen wearing his "furr collar" named Sophie. Always with a helpful hand and big smile you would find him serving family, friends, and neighbors. He is survived by his loving wife Diane, Sons: Scot (Marilyn), Monte (Cheryl), Troy (Michele) Southwick, Daughters: Michelle (Craig) Tracy, Teresa (Martin) Higley, Heidi Ames, Trina (Darin) Mariani, 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, brother, Kent Southwick, sisters, Cindy Stuart and Janet Jacobson. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Donna Olson, children: Debbie, Brett, Daren and his beloved four legged friend Sophie. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. A viewing will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
