Gayla Louisa Packer 67, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2022, surrounded by her family. Gayla was born on November 18, 1954, to John Fleming and Elizabeth Thomas Fleming in Ogden Utah. She was the second of four children and their first daughter. Gayla was very young when the family moved into their new home in Sunset. Gayla attended schools in Sunset and graduated from Clearfield High School.
Gayla met the love of her life, Dale Lavon Packer, and they were sealed for time and all eternity on September 19, 1975 in the Ogden Utah Temple. They lived most of their married life in Clinton Utah, where they raised three boys, Jared, Jacob, and Mark who were so incredibly special to her. There was never a conversation with Gayla where she didn't have to tell you about their achievements or their escapades. Gayla worked for a while at the beginning of their marriage until they began taking foster children into their home and she became a full-time mom to many children who crossed over their threshold. Once the boys came along, she dedicated her life to being there for them and that love continued as she became a grandmother. She adored her grandkids.
Gayla loved her parents deeply, and her devotion to them continued even after they left this earthly existence. She missed them every minute of every day, and the reunion that is now taking place is most assuredly a very happy and joyful event. Gayla was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and knew with all her heart that she would be with her husband and children forever.
Gayla is survived by her husband Dale, their children, Jared (Samantha) Packer, Jacob Packer, and Mark Packer, grandchildren, Lynda, Anna, Novalee, and Jaden. Brothers John (Gail)Fleming and Jeff (Barbara)Fleming, and sister Kathy (Kevin)Francis. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sweet baby granddaughter Alice.

"I thought of you today, but that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name,
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake from which I'll never part,
God has you in His arms, I have you in my heart."
