George Edwin Anderson, Jr.

WASHINGTON TERRACE - George E. Anderson Jr. died on Friday, 28 Sept 2007 at the age of 73. He peacefully passed away at his home from COPD. He was born on 22 Feb 1934 to George E. and Elizabeth (Boren) Anderson. George married Jean Stander and they were later divorced. He then married Cathy Vickers and they were later divorced. George then married Helen J. Travitz and they were happily married for 21 years until his death. George honorably served in the U.S. Navy and worked at Hill Air Force Base for 30 years until his retirement.

He was a past State Commander of the American Legion, served on the St. Ann's Board and was an active member of the Lutheran Church. George enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and the outdoors and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Helen Anderson; two sons Ron (Chu) Anderson, Jerry (Trina) Anderson; three daughters, Debbie Anderson, Kelly Anderson, Delana Anderson; one step-daughter Debbie Davies; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers David (Sharron) Anderson, Roger Anderson, Richard (Kathy) Anderson, Larry (Marilyn) Anderson, and one sister Laura (Eugene) Mahnke.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Joan Stidham and one brother Lew Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 1105 N. Washington Blvd., Ogden, where friends may call prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Qader, Applegate Hospice and their wonderful staff (especially Carrie, Jodi and Rachael) for their loving care in these last 6 months.
