George William Higley

GEORGE WILLIAM HIGLEY

HOOPER - On the morning of July 28, 2003 George William Higley passed away as a result of heart failure.

Born June 2, 1911, the sixth child of Franklin Spencer and Laura Janette Higley. He was the last surviving of brothers Frank, Leland, Clarence, Glen and sisters Cecil (Johnson), Mable, Laura (Clayton).

He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country valiantly from June 1942 until October 1945 in the United States Army.

George and his wife Edna celebrated 61 years of marriage and were parents of four daughters Janet (Doug Hoffman), Joan (Ned Greenwood), Nancy (James Ryan) and Helen (Craig Lunceford).

Their lives were graced with 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Surviving are many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers, sisters and a granddaughter, Paula Jill Greenwood Child.

The family would like to publicly thank and acknowledge the wonderful care given to George by the Staff at Heritage Park Care Center and Utah Heritage Hospice.
