George Marcus Mcintire

BRIGHAM CITY - Marcus McIntire, 88, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at his home.
Marcus was born February 12, 1928 in Brigham City, Utah the son of George William and Elsie Marie Simmonson McIntire.
He was raised in West Corinne until the age of 12, when the family moved to Brigham City. Marcus attended Corinne Elementary, Box Elder Junior High, and graduated from Box Elder High School.
On July 22, 1948, Marcus married Lillian Caroline Hill in Leadore, Idaho. They made their home in Corinne for 25 years. They then moved to their present home in Brigham City. Marcus was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
While his first love was being a cowboy for the cattlemen association, for much of his life he made his career as a race horse trainer, and enjoyed the winter sport of chariot racing.
Surviving are his sweetheart Lillian, children: Bill McIntire, Howell, UT; Joy (Brent) Bassett, Wellsville, UT; Dennis (Patty) McIntire, St. Ignatius, MT; Alane McIntire, Brigham City, UT; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services, per Marcus's request, will be Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the MacRae Cemetery in Leadore, Idaho.
Viewing will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT.
