George Edward White

Our loving father and grandfather, George Edward White, 78, died Saturday, October 06, 2007 at Crestwood Care center.

He was born October 11, 1928 a son of George Wallace and Martha Lythgoe White.

George served in the Army during World War II from November 26, 1946 to April 20, 1948.

He married Jerilyn Swift on October 26, 1949, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 57 years. She passed away on August 24, 2007.

George was a member of the LDS church in the Marriott-Slaterville 2nd ward where he served as Deacon Quorum president, Priest Quorum president, Teacher Quorum president, Ward clerk, Elders Quorum president and High Priest Quorum president.

He is survived by his sons, Byron D (Joanne) White; Garth A. (Judy) White; his daughter Julie Ann (Craig) Standing, all of Ogden, Utah. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and one sister, Delora Mae Nagata of Roseburg, Oregon.

George was preceded in death by his wife Jerilyn Swift White; two sons, Rodney Edward White and Jeffery Lynn White; as well as his parents and his brother Elwood Wallace White.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Tuesday, October 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday prior to the service from 12 to 12:45 p.m.
