BRIGHAM CITY - Geraldine Baxter Madsen, 87, passed away Monday December 20, 2010.
She was born on February 2, 1923 in Springfield, Missouri, to Joseph Othneil Baxter and Pearl Ester Patterson. After high school graduation she moved to California where she met her husband Dee S. Madsen. They were married in Santa Monica on October 9, 1942 and spent 62 happy years together in Torrance, CA, West Covina, CA, Salt Lake City and Brigham City. In 1952 she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a faithful member in many auxiliaries throughout her life. Through her conviction and dedication to her Savior she raised a righteous family. They are eternally grateful for her example. The family wishes to express their gratitude to her neighbor, Marilyn Scanlan and home teacher, Bruce Lyon for their loving service and the friendship that enabled her to stay in her home after the loss of her husband five years ago.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three siblings: Rachael, Herbert, and Lee, and grandson, Michael Flindt.
Surviving are her daughters: JoDee (Herbert) Flindt, Salt Lake City, UT; Christine (David) Richardson, Huntsville, UT; Ann (Lonnie) Bissegger, Harrisville, UT; eight grandchildren, Troy, Christopher, Kyle, Shawn, Kisty, Laura, Aimee, Julie and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at the Brigham City 17th Ward Chapel, 139 E. 300 N., Brigham City.
Friends may call Monday from 11:00 to 11:40 a.m. at the Church.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
