GERALDINE "LUCKY" THURSTON

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother completed her earthly journey on June 27, 2003. She returned to her Heavenly Father after struggling for many years with several illnesses. Her courage and strength were an inspiration to all that knew her.

Lucky was born November 22, 1946 in Ogden, Utah to Arthur and Darlene Smith. She spent her childhood years in California and Utah. She married James "Smoke" Maero and was later divorced. On May 24, 1977 she married her eternal sweetheart, Robert N. Thurston, and was later sealed in the Ogden Temple on February 12, 1999. Together they enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, bowling, watching fireworks, and going to the movies. She loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow-up. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She also enjoyed crocheting many beautiful blankets for friends and family.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed her
callings in the church and served as Stake Young Womens Athletic Director, as a member in the Young Womens Presidency, Relief Society Secretary and many years as a visiting teacher.
She was employed at Cutter Lab and Standard Optical.

Lucky is survived by her loving husband Robert N. Thurston, three daughters; Ginger Maero (Melynie Weaver), Kara L. Loftus (Chris) and Penny R. Wright (Chris) and four beautiful grandchildren; Aftyn Kynaston, Mitch Martin, Hayden and Zoe Loftus. She is also survived by three sisters; Ann Lozer, Shyral Smith and Peggy Stiles. Three brothers; Lester Smith, Michael Smith and Richard Smith and many in-laws and friends who loved her dearly.

Her father, mother and two brothers preceded her in death.
