Gina Elise Ivie Matthews Obituary (1968 - 2014)

Honeyville - Gina Elise Matthews, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt passed away suddenly from health complications on November 15, 2014. Gina was born December 2, 1968 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Robert James Matthews and Victoria Call Strange. Gina was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1985 she married Corey Farley. They later divorced. Two children, Kristian Noel and Danielle Paige were born to this union. She was married then sealed in the Ogden Temple to Charles Ivie. In August of 2013, Gina was reunited with a life long friend, Marla Hathaway, who later became the love of her life. Gina was a dreamer who created masterpieces using many different mediums. She would design web pages that were intricate and beautiful. She loved to crochet, and make soaps and bath products. Gina learned and knew homeopathic medicine and was always working on and finding new ideas for home remedies. Gina had a gift for loving and nurturing animals, especially her cat, Sekhemet. She adored her children and grandchildren. Gina is survived by her life partner and wife Marla Hathaway, her daughters Kristian (Daniel) Kelley of Beggs, Oklahoma and Danielle Farley of Tremonton, Utah. Her five beautiful grandchildren - Kendra Kelley, Ashlen Kelley, Gabrielle Kelley, Malichi Kelley and Natalia McKibben. Her father Robert James (Loresta) Matthews, mother Victoria (Norman) Strange, sister, Louisa Muhlestein and step-mom, Lois Matthews. Step-sisters, Jill (Tim) Harris, Wendy (Dane) Wilkinson and step-brothers, Derek Titensor and Drue (Chersty) Titensor. Nephew, Nicholas Blake (Jessica) Matthews and niece, Chandra (Tessie) Muhlestein, as well as the extended family of the Matthews/Titensors. Gina is preceded in death by her sister Yvette Adele Matthews, Grandparents Harold and Erma Call, Byron Rex and Helen B. Matthews and Aunt, Lana Gina Ivie Matthews Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Calls Fort Cemetery.
