Gloria Martini Zanoni

Our loving mother, Nonna, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 25, 2018. Gloria Domenica Martini Zanoni was born on April 14, 1931 in Superior, Wyoming, to proud Italian immigrants Gelindo and Carena Martini.

As a young girl, Mom worked hard on the family farm and later worked for Pillsbury and the Weber/Anderson Livestock Auction. She met our Dad Bortolo "Bert" Zanoni in Canada at a wedding reception. Little did she know, after writing letters to each other for over a year, she would marry the love of her life on June 24, 1967. They built their home in West Weber where they raised their two daughters, Kathy and Linda. Dad passed away on March 23, 1999.

Mom was an active member of St Mary's Catholic Church. She was the secretary for the Trentini Italians of Utah. She was very proud of her Trentini heritage.
Mom's joy in life was her family. She enjoyed shopping, going out to lunch and anything that involved her daughters. Her true happiness came with the birth of her grandchildren Brayden and Kaylee. She enjoyed supporting them in all their activities and spending as much time with them as she could. They were the light of her life.

Mom is survived by her loving family, Kathy (Rich) Verhaal and Linda (Jon) Fretwell, two grandchildren Brayden (Mady Sorensen) and Kaylee Fretwell as well as her step-grandchildren (Josh, Wade, and Cassidy Verhaal and their families). She is also survived by her brothers, Junior (Beverly) Martini and Dean (Kathy) Martini. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, sister Aileen Segna and niece Christine Burger.

We would like to thank the many doctors Mom has had throughout the years. A special thanks to Dr. Joan Balcombe and her amazing wound care team and Dr. Shelby Dames... two of the most caring doctors you could ever find. We couldn't have gotten through the past 5 years without ALL the wonderful caregivers we had for Mom. A SPECIAL thanks to Lyann Moalaeua who was her primary caregiver for the past 5+ years and loved her like she was her own mom. The family would like to give a special thank you to Community Nursing Services (CNS) for all their wonderful, loving and caring treatment of mom.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31st from 6 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4050 S. 3900 W., West Haven followed by burial in the Ogden City Cemetery, 20th and Madison Ave., Ogden.
