In Loving Memory of Gloria Enid Nunez

April 29, 1964 – April 6, 2025

Glory Enid Nunez, most likely known as Gloria, was born on April 29, 1964, in Cidra, Puerto Rico and passed away on April 6, 2025, in Sunset, Utah, just weeks shy of her 61st birthday after battling years of COPD and respiratory complications.

Gloria was the daughter of the late Victor Manuel Nunez and Carmen Rosa Vicente. She is survived by her siblings—Carmen M. Nunez, Maria A. Nunez, Zulma Nunez, Linda Nunez, Madeline Nunez, and Victor Nunez. She loved her siblings but loved and missed her mom with a passion.

Gloria had five children: Carmen Lisa Nunez (Javier Santiago), Orlando Martinez (Yanira Rivera Pacheco), Nilsa Tafuna (Tevita Tafuna), Jonathan Nunez (Haley Nunez), and Crystal Diaz. Her love for her children was surpassed only by the immense joy she found in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was the grandmother of Kevin J. Santiago (Yaelis Santiago Diaz), Alondra N. Santiago (Carlos Vazquez Cruz), Alanis S. Martinez Rivera, Nestor Ortiz (Emmalee Ortiz), Esei T. Tafuna, Emosi F. Tafuna, Salesi U. Tafuna, Marcelina E. Tafuna, Steven E. Tafuna, Christopher J. Robbins,Matthew E. Robbins, Logan Mendoza, Kaleb Mendoza, Sapphire Mendoza, and Jade Mendoza.

Gloria beamed with pride for her great-grandchildren, Kenniel J. Santiago Santiago and Amahia I. Santiago Santiago, and looked forward with joy to the arrival of another great-grandchild, soon to be born to Nestor and Emmalee Ortiz.

She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored like her own.
Gloria lived most of her life in Hartford, Ct. Her life was not always easybut she did the best she could. She was funny, courageous, and strong. She loved watching novelas, doing crossword puzzles, dancing, playing card games, and spending time on her phone—especially calling her loved ones to check in on them and see how they were doing.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she never stopped praying for those she loved. Her family will fondly remember her sweet tooth, her favorite word “Boo Boo,” and the joy she found in the little things—especially her daughter Carmen’s “trompa.”

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
