Golda Criddle Parrish Obituary (1919 - 2010)

GOLDA CRIDDLE PARRISH RIVERDALE - Golda Criddle Parrish, 90, Riverdale, formerly of Clearfield, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Monday February 15, 2010, in Ogden, Utah. She will be greatly missed. Her love and influence will be reflected in each of our lives. She was born the fourth of six children on December 22, 1919, to William Delbert and Hazel Armstrong Criddle. Golda married her sweetheart, Monroe Asa Parrish, on February 26, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died October 18, 1995. Golda's family was one of the original to settle Syracuse. On the family farm, she learned the value of hard work, homemaking, cooking and sewing. She graduated from Davis High and attended Weber Academy. Golda was always warm, friendly and thoughtful. Her greatest focus was on her family. She was fondly known as "Gramy" to her 43 grandchildren and 54 great-great children. Golda was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving for many years in the Primary and Relief Society. She had an absolute testimony of the gospel, and her life and actions were always an exceptional example to those around her. She emulated service and Christ-like love to all. She was loving and nonjudgmental, even when ill. Proud of her family; she found great joy in their accomplishments. She was grateful for her heritage, and served as Chapter Secretary of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers . Golda is survived by children Roger Monroe (Becky), South Weber; MarDell Criddle (Madelyn), Logan; Margo (Joe) Anderson, Uintah; VerDon Criddle (JoAnn), Syracuse; Julie (Mark) Tensmeyer, Riverdale; Val Criddle (Allison), Taylorsville; sister Bertha Halling, Kaysville; brother-in-law Walt Parrish, Layton; sisters-in-law June Parrish Smith, Ogden; Joy Criddle, Provo. Preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Asa Parrish, parents William Delbert and Hazel Armstrong Criddle; siblings, Effie, Wayne, Lynn, and Dean; daughter Darla Parrish Rampton and grandson Andrew Rampton. The family expresses gratitude to Advocate Hospice and the Crestwood Care Center staff for their loving care and friendship. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at the Riverdale LDS Stake Center 4000 South 1150 West (Parker Drive), Riverdale, Utah. Family and friends may call on Friday, February 19, 2010, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Myers Roy Mortuary 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and on Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., prior to services at the Stake Center.
