BRIGHAM CITY - Gordon Carter Jensen passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in Brigham City, Utah. Gordon was born March 3, 1923 in Long Beach, California to William Jensen and Helana Carter Jensen. He spent his early years in Rock Springs, Wyoming and Brigham City, Utah.
Gordon married Caroline Petersen on August 20, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They are the parents of four children: Paul Gordon (Charla) Jensen of North Logan, UT; Bruce Noble Jensen (deceased); Jane (Gordon) Johnson of Bountiful, UT; and Pamela (Roger) Stringham of Fielding, Utah.
Gordon served in the Army during World War II and graduated from Radio School in Laramie, Wyoming. Gordon and Caroline lived most of their married life in Brigham City. Gordon was part-owner of the Perry Garage, and later worked at Marquardt and retired from Hill Air Force Base. They served for 12 years as officiators in the Ogden LDS Temple and spent many hours doing family history extraction work. Gordon was a wonderful husband and father, and loved to serve his family and neighbors. He could repair a transmission or repair a car problem with ease, and he had a knack for fixing anything that was broken. He served for many years in the church as ward clerk, executive secretary and in the Sunday School and Mutual. He loved to visit the old ranch in the Wind Rivers in Wyoming with his family.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Caroline, his children, Paul, Jane and Pamela, and by a sister-in-law, Ruth Jensen, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. He so appreciated the friendship and service by his good neighbors. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Helana Jensen, son Bruce Noble Jensen, his brother, William Jensen, sisters; Alyse Jensen and Rosalyn Feild, and great-granddaughter Lindsey Lee Holland.
