Gordon Henry Peck

Gordon Henry Peck passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2018. He was born December 16, 1951 to Walter H. Peck and Anna Anderson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Here, he was raised by his loving parents, the fifth of six children, and created many wonderful memories with his family and friends.

He graduated from Skyline High School in 1971, went on to college in Denver and served a two-year mission for the LDS church in the Oregon mission. He married Janet Rae Rhoades in December of 1974, they later divorced. He also received an Associates of Science degree from Weber State University in 1991.

He later met and married Mary Ann Stephens on November 23, 1998. They were blessed to share nineteen wonderful years of wedded bliss together before his passing. He was Mary's honey.

Gordon worked various accounting jobs and in 1999 he began working as a mail sorter for the United States Postal Service in Salt Lake City where he worked until he retired on April 30, 2017.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in various church callings.

He was a kind and caring person with a tender heart. He enjoyed horseback riding and fishing and loved the mountains and streams. He love the pine trees.

He loved spending time with his siblings. He and is youngest sister, Darlene Hale, had a special bond between them. His brother in law, Keith Hale, was his best friend from childhood and that bond continued throughout his life.

He enjoyed his faithful dogs and cuddled with them regularly. He was also a sweet and attentive husband. He and his wife were proctor parents for the State of Utah and he was a shining example to the youth who came into their home. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Gordon is survived by his children, Stacey (Jason) Malm; Bryan Peck; Jeffrey (Kerry) Peck; Emily (Kevin) Calbert; Amber (Tim) Domenick; Derrick (Mandy) Peck; Rachael (Tyler) Madsen, and 16 grandchildren. Stepchildren: Tracy (Tyson) Young; Stacy (DJ) Blessant; Kimberly (Brandon) Foust; Trevor (Samantha) Stephens; Schuyler Stephens; Katie (Jay) Bustos. 16 step-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings: Larry (Janet) Peck; Gerald R (Maja) Peck; Walter H (Louise) Peck; Lorraine (Chuck) Elliott; Darlene (Keith) Hale.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. Peck and Anna Peck.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Clinton 10th ward, 702 West 1300 North, Clinton. A viewing will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, and prior to services 11:30-12:30. Interment will be the Fielding Memorial Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
