Greg VanDrimmelen
OGDEN - Greg VanDrimmelen passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2005 as a result of an extended illness and health complications. Greg was born on March 12, 1954 to George and Mildred Hilton VanDrimmelen. He grew up in Ogden, UT and attended Bonneville High School, graduating in 1972. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975. He married Debra Johnson in March of 1980. Greg was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served faithfully as the facilities manager.
Greg was a hard worker, and enjoyed working with his hands. He worked drilling water wells from 1979 until 1983. He began working for the Ogden City School District as a skilled maintenance worker until 1995. He was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed working and sharing his knowledge to the benefit of others. It seemed that there was nothing that he could not do. He was a very compassionate man and possessed an incredible will to live and serve. Even when suffering with extreme pain, he continued to serve and meet the needs of others. He truly had a heart of gold and a Christ-like love for everyone around him.
He is survived by his wife, companion, and best friend Debbie VanDrimmelen. His daughter ReAnne was the light of his life, and she will always relish the love and devotion he had for her. Also surviving is his sister Cheryl (Jeff) Conatser, his brother-in-law Charles Langeveld, and extended family.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Chad VanDrimmelen, his sister Pat Langeveld, and his grandparents, Maude and Charles Hilton and Thomas and Christina VanDrimmelen.
Greg's fortitude and legacy will live on, for he was a great example, as he truly endured to the end. We know that he is having a joyous reunion with his many loved ones that have passed on, and the many family pets that endeared themselves to him and basked in his affection.
Greg, you will be missed so much, by all who love and care for you. We are so happy you are free from your pain and suffering. We take comfort and solace in knowing that you are now transitioned into a better place.
