Grover Hess Obituary (2006)

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Grover Dean Hess passed away on April 30, 2006. He was born October 25, 1921 to Milford N. and Marie Reider Hess in Twin Falls, Idaho. He proudly served in the Army during World War II from 1942-1946, he was a tank radio operator during the Battle of the Bulge. September 24, 1946 he married Elizabeth Bishop in the Salt Lake Temple. Dean and Elizabeth were blessed with six children, Irene T. (Terry) Baker, West Valley, UT, Janet M. (Lee) Roberts, Kaysville, UT, Gerald D. (Barbara) Hess, American Fork, UT, Allan B. (Kathy) Hess, Amarillo, TX, Susan E. (Kelly) Rigby, Stansbury Park, UT and Barbara J. (Mark) Collins, Layton, UT. He owned his own business and worked as an auto body repairman in Layton. He was a member of the LDS church and had served as a High Priest Group leader, ward clerk, and genealogy chairman. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Russell M. Hess, and sister, Anna M. Martin. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his children, 28 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren with another one on the way, sister, Hazel Bober, brother Leslie Hess, and brother Rex Hess, all of Twin Falls, ID. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Green Leaf Ward Chapel, 2160 West Gordon, Layton at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton and at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
