Gwendolon Larry Obituary (1954 - 2022)

Gwendolon Carter Larry, 68, passed away November 21, 2022 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 3, 1954 to Matthew and Arcella Carter in Ogden, Utah. Gwendolon grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. She married her soulmate, John Lamont Larry whom she loved dearly, in 1999 and is the mother of two sons. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Gwen was a very loving person, with a kind personality. She had a cat named Blackee whom she loved very much. She would give you the shirt off of her back as well as her last dime to help someone in need. She loved her family and friends dearly. She had a Facebook and posted daily LOL "Lots of Love" and "God Bless the Whole World". She lived in Salt Lake but would come to Ogden every chance she got to visit and see friends. Gwendolon is survived by her husband, John; sons, Shalemar Wilson and Jabarri Starks; sister, Minnette (Claude) Hayes from Salt Lake City; cousins, Dunnese Sanders and Madise McNeal from Jackson, MS; nieces Beverly Tindall, Shanmel Brower, Asha Jones, and Breanna Larry from Denver, CO; nephews, Davee Person from Salt Lake City and Tito Larry from Denver, CO; five grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Arcella Carter; her sister, DeeAudrey Tindall, and special friend, James Rogers. A viewing will be held for Gwendolon on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah, followed by cremation. Burial will be at a later date.
