Hannelore Gisela (Bartilla) Hamblin Obituary (1946 - 2021)

Our precious mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Hannelore Gisela Hamblin, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home on January 27, 2021, surrounded by her children and husband, ending her valiant battle with cancer. Lore was born in Furth, Germany on February 10, 1946 to Alfred Bartilla and Emma Berda Bienas. Lore fell in love with an American Soldier, marrying and emigrating to America in 1968. Lore is survived by her husband of 53 years Karry Hamblin; her brother Lothar Bartilla, and her three children: Ilona McNiel (Mike), Shawn Hamblin (Paige), and Michelle Simpson (Scott), 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and cherished brothers, Werner, Paul, and Klaus. She had the softest hands and the sweetest touch. She cared deeply for her family and others. Those who met her immediately bonded with her due to her magnetic personality. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When not engaged in gardening and loving her meticulous yardwork, she occasionally found the time for a trip to Wendover to try her luck at the slot machine. Despite her health issues, she contacted family daily to unselfishly ask how we were doing and let us know we were loved, either in person, text, or a phone call. She always ended the conversation with "I Love You." She will be greatly missed. "Wir lieben dich auch Mama." The family would like to extend our sincere thank you to Intermountain Hospice and Homecare, McKay Dee Hospital Nursing Staff, her "favorite", Ashleigh Rousseau, Nurse Practitioner with the McKay Dee Hospital Cancer Center and Father Cummings of the Newman Center. The love shown during our journey, by you, will never be forgotten. Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 3:00 pm, at the Evergreen Cemetery, 145 N, Monroe Blvd, Ogden, UT 84404.
