Haroldine (Dene) Stone Storey Obituary (1918 - 2010)

Haroldine Storey CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO SERVICE Bountiful - Haroldine Alberta (Stone) Storey, 92, died April 15, 2010 of causes incident to age. Her tiny little body finally gave out. Haroldine (Dene) was born March 1, 1918 to Harold W. and Mary Ellen Stone. She grew up in Ogden, the oldest of five children. In her youth, she enjoyed hiking, sledding and was an avid baseball fan. While working as an usher at the Ogden Reds ballpark, she met Maurice (Mick) Storey and they eloped in March 1940. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They moved to Pocatello, Idaho in 1952 where they raised their three children and lived for nearly fifty years. Haroldine volunteered for Easter Seals for many years. She enjoyed bowling, singing around the house, watching the Jazz and the Atlanta Braves and entertained us with her yodeling skills. She was well known for her chocolate cake with fudge frosting. At age 50, she started selling Avon and continued for over thirty years, earning many awards, even though she often purchased almost as much product as she sold. She loved her Avon customers and they loved her. She is survived by her three children: Shanna (John) Peterson, Spring Creek, NV, Kent Storey, Meridian, ID, and Jolene (Nick) Cash, Bountiful, UT, 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings, Delmar (Joy) Stone, LeRoi (Cheryl) Stone, Darwin (Diane) Stone, and Luauna Best. Preceded in death by her husband, Mick. The family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Welcome Home Assisted Living in Bountiful for their wonderful care and concern over the past two years. We couldn't have asked for a more loving environment for our mother. She truly felt loved there. Thanks to Caregiver Support Network and Hospice as well. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 23 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. Interment: Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden, Utah.
