She was born July 7, 1912 to Isaac Benson and Mary Elizabeth Tingey in Brigham City, Utah.

Hazel was a homemaker and was a unique individual and ran on her own track.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, and older sister Ruth, her husband Clarence, and granddaughter-in-law BambiLe Walker Astle, and great grandson Ike Benson Astle.
She is survived by her only son Bill (DonNell), grandson Benson (Peggy), great grandchildren Amy (Jason) Larkin, Nik, Rhet, and Kole Astle. She is also survived by twin great granddaughters Lindsey and Kelsen Larkin.
