PLEASANT VIEW - Helen Kaye Raymond Andersen was called home by her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 10, 2005. She passed away peacefully at her home in Pleasant View surrounded by her immediate family.
She was born May 21, 1935 in Logan, Utah to Glen and Ruth Hansen Raymond. She married her lifelong sweetheart, Royce M. Andersen on July 10, 1953 in the Logan Temple. Helen and Royce (Andy) began their acquaintance in grade school at Washington Terrace Elementary. They began dating while attending Weber High School and married shortly after graduation. Helen went on to attend Weber State College.
Helen worked for over 35 years at Hill Air Force Base, retiring from Civilian Personnel, but her life's work was her family. She also spent her life developing and nurturing lasting friendships with people throughout the country.
She was a past president of BPO DOES Drove 27, and a past supreme president of BPO DOES at the national level. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Helen was also active in the Pleasant View 12th Ward, serving in the Relief Society Presidency, and as Compassionate Service Leader.
Helen was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an incredible grandmother. She devoted her life to serving others in many ways. She will long be remembered by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the many traditions that she established including grandkids day, Easter egg decorating, pumpkin painting, Thanksgiving get-togethers, and many more.
She is survived by her husband Royce (Andy), two sons, Scott R. Andersen (Marcia), Kyle R. Andersen (Machel) and one daughter, Kari Berrett (Curtis) all of Ogden, 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her beloved Aunt Gert of Ogden. Also surviving are one sister and three brothers, Sheryl Frank of Auburn, CA; Glen V. (Van) Raymond of Pocatello, ID; Jay Raymond, and Bob Raymond, both of Roy.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Vista Care Foundation in Helen's name.
The family would like to thank the staff of Vista Care, particularly Amy Squires for the wonderful care they gave our wife and mom.
