OGDENa"Helen Lucile Watkins Neuteboom, age 85, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008, after suffering from Alzheimer's disease for 25 years. She was born March 12, 1923, in Oakford, Illinois, to Cyrus Boles Watkins and Emma Baker Watkins. She spent her earliest years in rural Illinois but came to Utah with her family in 1929, crossing the countryside in a Model-T Ford. They settled in Slaterville and later Ogden, where she and her siblings attended local schools. She graduated from Ogden High.
Helen was sealed to Harvey Charles Neuteboom on September 8, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. After Harvey's service in WWII, they settled in Ogden and raised two sons and two daughters. Helen loved her family and found her greatest joy in serving them. Her home was a place of peace, order, and cleanliness, and she was happiest when her family surrounded her there.
Survived by her husband, Harvey; son Robert; daughter Barbara (Cleve) Dibble; son-in-law Thell Williams; sister Merrill (Wendell) Hall; and brother-in-law C. Elden Yorgason, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Baker Watkins; sister Madeline Yorgason; son Richard Neuteboom; daughter Mary Lin Williams; and daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Neuteboom.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Myers Mortuary, 843 Washington Blvd., Ogden, at 11:00 a.m. Viewing at the mortuary from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
