HELEN CONDIE SMITH
ROY/COALVILLE - Our dear sweet mother, Helen Condie Smith, returned home to our Heavenly Father on September 8, 2002 after 99 glorious years.

She was born in Freedom, Idaho on March 30, 1903 to Gibson A. Condie and Emily Elizabeth Tucker. She attended one year of college at the Brigham Young College in Logan.

She married Farrell P. Smith on July 23, 1924 in the Logan LDS Temple. During her early years of marriage she was a school teacher.

She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During her lifetime she held many ward and stake positions serving with dedication and enthusiasm. She was a member of the Utah Daughters of Pioneers. When she was 55 years old she graduated from Hollywood Beauty College and had one of the first home beauty shops in Roy. She enjoyed her work as a hairdresser until she was 86 years old.

She was a beautiful seamstress and loved to crochet and tat. She was a great cook and loved preparing meals for her family that were "fit for a king." Her home was always the gathering place for family and friends. She ran the best "Bed and Breakfast" in town. Her children and grandchildren adored her and have such fond memories. She was kind, gracious and generous to all. She has valiantly served the Lord and endured to the end with extraordinary faith and courage without complaint. She taught us to "always say our prayers and put our trust in the Lord for all things."

She is survived by one son and two daughters: Dr. Richard C. (Norma) Smith, Provo; Edna (Jack) McBride, Fillmore; JoAnne (Jack) Weir, Coalville; 14 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her four brothers and three sisters. We love you Mom and may God be with you until we meet again.
