H. Brendan James Obituary (1926 - 2015)

H. Brendan James Ogden - Henry Brendan James, 89, passed away April 18, 2015. Brendan was born February 10, 1926 in Ogden to Genevieve R. Kelly and Henry Harrison James. He graduated from Ogden High and attended Weber College and received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah. He served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. Brendan married Marjorie Salmon on Sept. 7, 1950 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was a charter member of St. James Catholic Church where he was a Scout Master and was also a member of Knights of Columbus. He was an avid horseman and story teller; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and skiing. He was an appliance salesman for 37 years and retired from Sears. He was president of Lynne Irrigation. Brendan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie; children, Robert (Terry), Michael (Natalie) and Karen (John) Leonardi; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; 7 sisters, Margaret, Mary, Roberta, Patricia, Claire, Esther, Betty; his sons, John Paul and David and grandchildren, Lillian Rose James and Jonathan Leonardi. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 21st at St. James Catholic Church from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch. A special thanks to the many hospice workers who took care of Brendan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. James Catholic Church building fund.
