I was born on this obscure, but significant planet to Dutch immigrant parents, Adolf and Geertje Zwang Leydsman in Newark, NJ on Oct. 25, 1930. I graduated from Union High School, Union NJ in 1948.
I was a participant in the New Jersey Army National Guard; I was also a member of the United States Air Force and a veteran of the Korean War.
I married Shirley Peterson in 1954; we had four children, Sandy, Sherry, Greg and Shelly. We were later divorced. I married Jenn Anderson Sandoval in 1983.
I received a B.S. degree from Brigham Young University in 1959 and also attended Utah State University. I taught for the Weber County School District from 1959 to 1992.
I enjoyed sports very much; many hours were spent following all BYU teams. The many hours spent on the golf course were a plus in my life. I also enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas and Wendover, what a blast!
Some of my greatest hours of pleasure were derived from my love of listening to Jazz music, I was consumed with it, and yes, those beautiful women that God created, I thank Him for.
I am survived by my wife, Jenn; and the mother of my children, Shirley; my children, Sherry (Dr. Ralph) McFarland and Shelly Leydsman Brewer; my stepchildren, Doug (Vinci) Anderson, Melannee Butler, Darious (Artois) Sandoval; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and my brothers, E. Kim (Lupe) Leydsman and Wayne Leydsman. I was preceded in death by my parents and two children, Greg and Sandy.
I was an active member of the human race, of which there were an abundance of many fine people. There is so much to learn yet, but I loved the experience - Good journey to all. I passed away on June 10, 2012.
