Hollis Allen Henderson Obituary (1922 - 2002)

HOLLIS ALLEN HENDERSON (HA) CLINTON - Hollis Allen Henderson passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at his home in Clinton City. HA will be missed by his surviving family members, three sons and two daughters, Hollis, Richard, Kathy, Mindy and Mat, as well as all of the others touched during his life. HA was born November 11, 1922 in Moresville, Georgia to Roy and Alice Henderson. HA was a well educated man, receiving degrees in electrical engineering, management from Georgia Tech, Weber State University and University of Utah with a Masters degree from ICS. HA also served his country in WW II as an electricians mate for the US Navy 1943 - 1946. HA also served his local communities as a Scout leader and as Chairman of the Sacramento College. HA was a life long railroad man, achieving such positions as superintendent of the mechanical division of the Southern Pacific Railroad also as the Assistant Vice President of the mechanical division for ConRail. HA retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 32 years of service and also retired from ConRail at the age of 65, at which time he started his own business as a transportation consultant for railroads all over the world. One of HA's most loved projects was the engineering and design of the Queensland railway that spans his second home Australia. HA loved life as only he could and we will truly miss him.
