Lucile Fronk Smith Obituary (1927 - 2007)

LUCILE FRONK SMITH SUNSET - Lucile Fronk Smith, 80, passed away early October 26, 2007, after a short but valiant battle with acute promyelocytic leukemia. She was born August 12, 1927, to Lester H. and Hortense Butler Fronk, the youngest of their four children. Most of her childhood was spent in Cutler Dam, Utah, where her father was superintendent of the UP & L power plant. She graduated from Bear River High School and completed her nursing training at the Thomas D. Dee School of Nursing in 1948. On December 8, 1951, she married William Jay Smith in Ogden, Utah. They were the proud parents of seven children. Early in their marriage they purchased a home in Sunset, Utah. She and Bill had almost 52 years of marriage when he passed away in November of 2003. Lucile worked in the nursing field throughout her life. Most of her career was spent at the Dee Hospital and later the McKay-Dee Hospital. Her children and their spouses are: Chuck & Linda Smith of Hooper, UT; Dean & Cindy Smith of Godley, TX; Dale & Betty Smith of Sunnyside, UT; Robert & Diana Smith of Layton, UT; Scott & Alisha Smith of Salt Lake City, UT; Sheri & Ben Dattilo of Fort Wayne, IN; and Evelyn & Wally Woolsey of Morgan, UT. She has 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grand children. She was preceded in death of her husband, parents, siblings, a granddaughter Rachael Spencer, and a grandson-in-law, Joe Harris. The family wished to thank Doctors Amann and Johnson and nursing staff of Med/Oncology at McKay-Dee for their skilled and compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing will be held Monday, October 29, 2007, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment in the Hooper City Cemetery.
