Ian Casey "Ginger" Stanger returned home to our Heavenly Father on April 10, 2017. Ian was born on March 13, 2001 to Christopher and Katie (Johnson) Stanger, the youngest of 4, but the tallest of all. Ian was known by many different nicknames - Heath; Turkey; Toad; Crazy Monkey; Lil' Red; Fed Ex; Mister Man; Bubba; Buddy Boy; Boy O; "E"; Buster Brown; Buddy; Alf Alf A; Dumbo; Buster; with Gingy and Ginger being the most popular and used by his friends. Ian, from the time he could walk, had a great love for figuring out how things worked. Whether it was taking the wheels off of his Tonka trucks and match box cars, unscrewing VCR and DVD players, taking apart bicycles and putting them back together, or building remote control cars from the ground up, he loved a challenge and to tinker. This explains why he wanted to become a mechanic of all things, so he could always find a job no matter where he lived as he wanted to travel the world.

Ian had a great love for racing remote control cars, riding bicycles and skateboards, fishing, spending time at the family cabin with his favorite cousins, spending time with his dog, Dakota, and hanging out with his friends. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help out with anything and everything, even without being asked. He hated to see anyone upset and would do what he could to get them to laugh and feel better, whether it was by hugging them while saying positive things or acting ridiculous to get them to laugh and smile. Ian, you were taken from us way to soon. We love you and we will NEVER forget you.

Ian is survived by his parents, sisters; Halie (Ben) Bocskei, Samantha, and Lauren Stanger; 2 nephews; grandparents; Ken and Margene Johnson and Scott and Jeannie Stanger; great grandfather; Frank Stanger, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and limitless friends.

Ian is preceded in death by his grandmother, Claire Johnson, great-grandmother, Erma Stanger, cousins; Lillie Cottle, Kash Spencer, and Luke Johnson; and other family members too numerous to name.

The family would like to give special thanks to Candis Holloman, Sylvester Daniels, Jason Brophy, and the Principal and Staff at George Washington High School.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at the mortuary and prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
