Ilene Nordquist, age 69, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2018, due to complications with lupus. She was born June 8, 1949, in Bountiful, Utah. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Dave Nordquist, in June of 1967. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple by President Ezra Taft Benson.

Ilene was a loving mother, devoted wife, and faithful church member. She spent many Friday nights attending Ogden High baseball, basketball, and football games along with various dance competitions in support of her children and husband. Like her mother, she was an excellent organizer who kept an immaculate yet warm home. She served in many church callings but loved nothing more than teaching and mentoring the young women of her ward.

Ilene possessed a feisty and stubborn personality but always loved and supported those around her. She was an avid reader who loved historical fiction and LDS biographies. She enjoyed sharing her favorite desserts with anyone who visited her home and seldom passed up a quality piece of Mrs. Cavanaugh's chocolate. Music played an important part in her life, and her home was filled with songs from ABBA to the Beach Boys. Later in life, she loved spending time with her grandchildren on her back porch.

She is survived by her husband, Dave Nordquist. Also survived by children, Brett (Kim) Nordquist, Jana (Bob) Williams, Jill (Ken) Searle, Brandon (Jenn) Nordquist and Trisha (Brandyn) Bodily, by siblings, Dennis (Ann) Tingey, Dean Tingey, DeeAnn Pratt and 19 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Betty Tingey, and her infant sister, Annette Tingey.

The Nordquist family expresses appreciation to the staff at Ogden Regional medical Center during the last days of her life along with years of gentle care at the hand of physicians Dr. Jeff Booth, Dr. Robert Moesinger, and Dr. Glen Biddulph.
