Iris Lillian Hansen Richards

Our Dear Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and kindhearted Aunt and Friend, passed away peacefully in Sun City, Arizona on July 8, 2006.

Iris, the eldest daughter of six children, was born March 27, 1914 to Lillie and N. Leo Hansen in Brigham City, UT. Iris became an accomplished cook, seamstress, homemaker and motherAAA 1/2s helper long before she required these skills in her personal life. After graduating from Box Elder High School she moved to Salt Lake City and worked for many years at the University Beauty and Barber Shop. Iris maintained her Cosmetology License with the State of Utah until age 85. During these years she met and fell in love with a tall, dark and handsome man named Claude Richards. They married on June 1, 1940 and have remained a loving example of marriage to all who knew them.

Iris leaves behing her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, their children, Tonia (the late Stan) Hutton of Bellingham, WA, Trudi (Steve) Rose of Salt Lake City, UT, Terry (Judy) Richards of Meridian, ID, a brother, Lamar D. (Shirley) Hansen of Ogden, UT. Iris and Claude are the proud Grandparents of seven Grandsons and 11 Great- Grand Children. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, Leonda, Delbert, Pearl and Ruth.

Through the years, Iris maintained a warm and loving home, one where family and friends gather and enjoyed her good humor, delicious meals and caring way. By all, Iris will be remembered for the love and devotion she showed to each of them.

A special Thank You from the family, to IrisAAA 1/2 many Caregivers during her last months. We are forever grateful.

Funeral Services will be Friday, July 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
