Ilse Margarete Kleinert Miller Obituary (1925 - 2012)

Ilse Margarete Kleinert Miller Ogden - Ilse passed away on June 20, 2012, at the age of 86, at Ogden Regional. She was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Germany, the only child of George Erich and Margarete Schlag Kleinert. Ilse came to America with her parents in 1930. She married William Harry Miller Sept. 22, 1952, in Kent, Washington. He died in Sept. 1955. Ilse has lived in Oregon and Washington states and has resided in Ogden since 1960. She worked as a Shipping Clerk at a very young age on the Oregon Coast and later helped run the family owned grocery store. She retired from DDO in Ogden as a Cost Accountant for the Federal Government. She is presently a member of the Rock Cliff 3rd Ward. She has served faithfully throughout her life as a visiting teacher, a Gospel Doctrine teacher and her favorite, being the Ward Chorister. Ilse had a strong testimony of her Savior and was so grateful to have a knowledge of the gospel. One of Ilse's greatest joys was crocheting hats for children in Mexico. She made over 4000 hats, averaging one to two per day. She also received great satisfaction for over 20 years extracting names from German records for genealogy work. She enjoyed watching television, especially bull riding, the Jazz, Perry Mason, old classic movies and CNN News. And she had to have her Dove chocolates! But Ilse's greatest pleasure was in the special friendships she developed through the years. She looked forward to her telephone calls from Esther, Donna, Dolly, Betty, Bermuda, Suzie and Karen. Ilse and Karen cherished the special bond they had with each other. She is survived by her family (adopted through love) Randy, Karen, Michelle, Ryan, Scott, Carley and Jenna King, and Kinley Castillo, as well as many special friends in her ward. Also extended family; Fritz and Hilda Hinzmann, Chris Hinzmann, Susie Molzahn, and Lisa Drops, all from Oregon, and Janet Hoeffer, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill, and her mother and father. Special thanks to the Ogden Regional ICU nurses; Kathy, Keelee and Brian for their loving care.
