Jack Lamar Brooks Obituary (1927 - 2003)

JACK L. BROOKS 1927 -- 2003 ROY - Jack Lamar Brooks was born on May 31, 1927, in Hoytsville, Utah to Reed and Ione Winters Brooks. He passed away on March 18, 2003 at the McKay Dee Hospital after a noble and valiant battle with cancer. Jack was a World War II Veteran and served in Korea. Jack married Juanita Milliner on July 29, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They raised two children, Becky and Curt (Janet). They had five grandchildren, Nicholas Gale, Christopher Gale, Ryann Gale, Cory Brooks, Paige Brooks and one great grandchild, Regan Gale. In Jack's youth he loved to hunt and fish and remained a true outdoorsman, fishing with his wife and grandchildren. Jack's family was his pride and joy and he spent most of his retirement years enjoying family time with them. Jack worked at the Ideal Cement Plant, the Naval Supply Depot, then graduated from Steven's Heneger College and spent the rest of his working career at Hill Air Force Base, retiring with 36 years of service. Jack felt it a great accomplishment that he never missed one day of pay since beginning his working career in 1948. Since retiring, a special part of Jack's day was spent with his retired HAFB "buddies" drinking morning coffee at the bowling alley. Jack was a great spouse, father, grandfather and most of all friend. Jack is also survived by two sisters, Reeta (Wes) Webster, Sandy, Utah and Shirley Phelps, Coalville, Utah.
