Jack LaRon Zundel

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Jack LaRon Zundel passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 30, 2016. He was born on April 4, 1936 in Ogden, Utah to John Jacob and Katie Marie Thompson Zundel. He married his eternal companion, Kathleen Toombs, on November 10, 1960 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He graduated from Ogden High School and Weber State University. Ron proudly served in the Naval Reserve and enjoyed reminiscing about his time there.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ron served a mission in Melbourne, Australia as a youth and inner city Ogden with his wife, Kathy. He served faithfully in many leadership callings including Bishop.

Ron enjoyed traveling, camping, and driving the school bus for the deaf and blind. He was an avid Jazz fan and could be found driving a new truck quite often.

Ron owned and operated Ron Zundel Automotive Repair for 32 years.

Ron loved the time he spent in Oregon on his cattle ranch. There were many great memories created on the ranch.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years; children, Michael (Johanna) Zundel, Alan (Jennifer) Zundel, Nanette (Kent) Baker and Matthew (Alia) Zundel; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Karen (C Robert) Sanders, Rodney (Sandy) Zundel, David (Susan) Zundel and Tonya (David) Browning.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Parker LaRon.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the North Ogden 11th Ward, 3610 North 650 East. A viewing will be held on Monday, September 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd and prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
