Jacob Heiner

–

Ogden, Utah

Jacob Cole Heiner, 26, passed away on October 9, 2023. He was born on January 19, 1997, in Ogden, Utah, the cherished son of Brett and Tara Heiner. Jake spent his childhood growing up in Clinton Utah, Redding California, and Alabaster Alabama. He graduated Valedictorian from Thompson High School in 2015. Always at the top of his class, Jake pursued his university education at Auburn University in Alabama, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
His most recent professional endeavors included working as a process design engineer for a company he held in high regard for having a hand in the creation of the Uncrustable. Typical for Jake, chemical engineering wasn't complicated enough, so he made his way into working as a nuclear engineer in environmental cleanup, an accomplishment and passion he was proud of.
With an adventurous spirit and a love for world travel and expanding his cultural experiences, Jake hiked with friends through the mountains of Colombia, road tripped up the coast of California with his brother, backpacked and motorbiked through Southeast Asia with his sisters, making new friends all along the way. In his quest for exploration, Jake enjoyed hiking, rock climbing, and camping. In the eyes of those around him, he was good at everything he tried. He took a very special interest in AI and held great hope for how it will help humanity. Family played a very important role in Jake's life, and he had very special relationships with his brother Logan, and his niece Cece. His incredibly charming, witty, intelligent, biggest prankster of all time personality made him a friend to all.
Jake is survived by his parents, Kenneth Brett and Tara Heiner, his sisters Maddie Heiner Porter (Haden), and Siera Heiner, his brother Logan Heiner, and niece Collins Cole Porter.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Dewey and Lyla Black.
