Jacoba (Cobie) VanderPol Wilson
On August 27, 2023, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jacoba (Cobie) VanderPol Wilson, age 96, passed on to reunite with her husband and heavenly family.
Cobie was born September 30, 1926 to Peter VanderPol and Jacoba Du Floo in Rotterdam, Netherlands. As a baby and the youngest of 5 girls, she was carried on the laps of her family across the ocean, stranded for weeks at Ellis lsland, train adventure across the country and finally arrived in Ogden, Utah to become United States citizens.
She attended Ogden schools and was proud to say she graduated from Ogden High School. She met and married lsrael (lzzy) Wilson in 1948 and moved to California for another adventure. They returned to Clearfield, Utah in 1960 and lived there until health circumstances changed 7 years ago. lzzy died in February of 20I7 . She has been residing in West Point with her daughter ever since.
Cobie loved to dance and spent many years square dancing in the Ogden area.
She loved classic country music. She was an Avon Lady for 42+ years. She was a homemaker and shopper. She was a member of the Clearfield 6th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through all of her adventures, she met many wonderful friends and held them close to her heart. But to know Cobie was to know that she held her family the closest. She was a loving and adoring mother and grandmother, always participating in everything she possibly could. Sunday dinners were the best!
Cobie joins her husband, lzzy, her mother and father, sisters Helen Knight, Suzanna Tassone, Maria Formaster and Ann Bybee, who have all passed.
